I am participating at an event this semester, am I eligible to apply?
Unfortunately, no. The Distinguished Travel Award stipulates that it is a prospective award meaning that applicants should apply this semester for events taking place on/after 07/01/2019
I applied to a conference/event, but I have not yet heard a confirmation of my acceptance. May I apply?
Yes. If you are doing so, please instruct your letter-writers to comment on your chances of acceptance. When you receive confirmation of acceptance, send it to firstname.lastname@example.org immediately so it can be added to the file.
I have not yet booked travel for the event, what should I put on the application form for “Itemized Statement of Expenses?”
You should estimate costs to the best of your ability. If you win DTA, you will be required to resubmit that along with original receipts to verify your expenditures.
How are DTA applications reviewed?
Applications are reviewed by an anonymous committee consisting of GSO members and faculty members.
When will I be notified?
You can expect be notified by email by the end of the 3rd week of April.
