Productions Director
Venkata Chaitanya Jana
Venkata Chaitanya Jana, engaged in his Master's studies in Data Science at Stony Brook University, also dedicates his skills to the role of Productions Director in the Graduate Student Organization. In this capacity, he is instrumental in planning, coordinating, and overseeing a variety of events aimed at enriching the campus life for graduate students. His role involves meticulous attention to the details of event logistics, from initial concept to final execution, ensuring each event runs smoothly. Chaitanya's commitment to this role is a reflection of his dedication to enhancing the university's community spirit and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for his peers. His efforts are focused on creating opportunities for engagement, collaboration, and professional growth among the graduate student body.

George Osei
George Osei (he/him/his) is a third year PhD student in the Department of History. His research focuses on intersections of witchcraft, human rights and psychiatry in modern West Africa. He obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s Degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the University of Ghana respectively.
As the productions director, it is his goal to provide graduate students with exciting and entertaining events to foster a sense of collegiality among grad students outside the classroom.

Akshay Kurup (he/him/his) is a graduate student in the Applied Mathematics and Statistics Department and serves as the assistant treasurer of the GSO. He enjoys connecting with students and strives to support students in a way that will enable them to accomplish their goals.

Alexandra Checkers
Alexandra Checkers (she/her/hers) is a 2nd year MSW student in the School of Social Welfare. She has a Bachelor's degree in psychology and Master's in Business Administration from St. John's University. She currently works in the department of Psychiatry as a research coordinator looking at alternative treatments for treatment resistant depression. In the future, she hopes to work as a school social worker.
Her goal as the GSA is to make student's lives easier and help them navigate issues they may be experiencing. She wants students to know that they are not alone; she and the GSO are here to help make their experience at Stony Brook as positive as possible.

Gaëlle Aminata Colin
Gaëlle Aminata Colin is is a PhD student in the Sociology department and works on Black feminism, race in Europe, and food justice. As an international student, Gaëlle is dedicated to supporting international students.
