Mornings are better with good food and good company. Join us for the GSO Jump Start Breakfast, a casual morning gathering designed to help you fuel up, meet peers, and connect with GSO leadership.

GSO Meet and Greet
🤝 GSO Meet and Greet – Build Your Graduate Network!

Dear Graduate Students,
The Graduate Student Organization is excited to host our Meet and Greet, a welcoming event designed to bring graduate students together across departments and disciplines. This is the perfect opportunity to settle into the semester, make meaningful connections, and learn more about the resources available to you.
At this event, you’ll:
Connect with fellow graduate students in a relaxed, friendly setting
Meet GSO leadership and advisors who can guide you through funding, resources, and opportunities on campus
Learn more about GSO programs, upcoming events, and ways to get involved
Enjoy light refreshments while building new connections across the graduate community
Whether you’re new to Stony Brook or a returning student, this is your chance to expand your network, connect with advisors, and start the semester with community and support.
GSO Kayaking
Come enjoy a beautiful evening on the water, connect with fellow graduate students, and relax while watching the sunset. Free food will be provided after the activity.
Important Details:
There is a maximum capacity of 70 students for this event and REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
Selection will be based on the registration form responses (first come, first served.)
The first 70 graduate student respondents will receive a confirmation email along with the waiver form that must be signed before the event.
Transportation will not be provided. Please arrange your own travel to the venue.
GSO Jump Start Lunch
Come hang out at the GSO Jumpstart Lunch in the Graduate Student Lounge (SAC 145)! We’ll have pizza, mozzarella cheese sticks, and chicken wings waiting for you. It’s a great chance to grab some free food, relax, and connect with other grad students.
GSO SPOOKTACULAR
The GSO Spooktacular Halloween Event will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 6:00–10:00 PM in SAC Ballroom A (arrive by 6:30 PM). The evening will feature free food, live mocktail bars, and a best costume contest with gifts and goodies. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best Halloween costumes.
GSO Top Golf
Ready to unwind, swing some clubs, and share a few laughs? Join us for an afternoon of fun at Top Golf on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 5231 Express Dr N, Holtsville, NY 11742.
No experience needed - just show up, take your shot, and enjoy the company of fellow graduate students. You’ll get free snacks and drinks, and plenty of chances to connect, relax, and maybe even discover your hidden golf skills.
Please note: No Transportation will be provided, so plan your travel in advance and arrive by 11:45 AM to check in.

A registration form will be shared with all graduate students via email. Only 150 participants will be selected randomly, so make sure to register before the deadline for a chance to join!

Come meet fellow graduate students, enjoy free lunch, and learn about upcoming opportunities and events from the Graduate Student Organization. It’s a great chance to connect, share ideas, and take a break from your busy week!
GSO End-of-Semester Party
This semester’s been a grind for everyone, and this is that one evening where you just show up, unwind, and enjoy the vibe. The GSO End-of-Semester Party on 3rd December 2025 is going to have everything you’d hope for - good food, live performances, music, and a full DJ set to close out the night.
We’re keeping the atmosphere fun and relaxed. If you want to come, eat, chill with friends, take photos, dance a little, or just sit back and enjoy the performances, you’re welcome. If you want to perform, even better - we love seeing students bring their talent on stage.
We’ll be putting together a short lineup of performers, so we’re opening an Interest Form for anyone who wants a slot. Here’s what you should know before signing up:
Filling the form does not guarantee a performance slot.
Slots will be decided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The final lineup depends on the available time and flow of the event.
